Several new projects of the starchitects simulate 1-5 y.o. toys, like the "big-blocks" of OMA and now "jenga" of Herzog and de Meuron.It's true that some people is going to hate it, other like it and some others love it and make it the icon of a god. But the true is that this kind of new conceptual-architecture is only possible in NY because the City is bigger in spirit that some simple buildings. And those blocks-amount shapes are not going to change the history and value of this great CITY.Developers are happy to bring to US and specially NY new european or asian firms, but if they propose it in the early beggings of the City, they could be the first to see and understand that this kind of buildings don't represent a long-term icons. NY is always shining because the quality and good-taste design, the city doesn´t NEED this kind of design and it doesn´t NEED to be the playandexperimental ground of some architertural firms.I read a comment in other place.... ...the only possitive point in this kind of buildings is that we are close enought to have the BLADERUNNER city in just a few years.
